For the third year in a row, Santa Cam’s Surprise Sleigh made four stops throughout the Queen City. On December 13, Santa Cam, his teammate elves (Leonard Johnson and Trai Turner), along with friends, family and volunteers, surprised four groups by spreading holiday cheer and joy.  Food Lion Feeds and Second Harvest Food Bank were valued partners.

Cam and the Sleigh, consisting of seven Chevrolet SUVS, made the first stop of the day at Barringer Academic Center. At the school, we presented a $30,000 check to fund the school with a new backpack program.  A backpack program provides meals for underserved children who don’t have food and toiletries on weekends and holiday breaks.

Cam then surprised volunteers at Silver Mount Emergency Food Pantry with a truck full of freezers, rolling carts, food and supplies.

Then, the third stop was The Bethlehem Center.  Students received backpacks of games, toys, clothing and a Food Lion gift card.

The final stop of the day was SouthPark Mall.  Families received a meal at McCormick & Schmick’s, a $500 Food Lion gift card, then the children went on a shopping spree at Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Big thanks to Food Lion Feeds for the support and partnership!
