School Pride Video Contest

November 20, 2014

The Cam Newton Foundation, in partnership with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, is excited to announce this year’s SCHOOL PRIDE Video Contest Program. The concept of SCHOOL PRIDE supports the overall school mission and renews the commitment to education by enhancing and cultivating an environment for respectful and responsible students and administrators in school communities.

Each month, all CMS middle schools (or K – 8th grade academies) have the opportunity to submit a SCHOOL PRIDE video. Schools consider themes such as leadership, culture and community, authenticity, generosity and perseverance when developing their videos. The videos are 90 seconds or less and submitted by a specific deadline each month. Monthly deadlines continue through the end of March. There are six total submissions dates, and schools are encouraged to submit different videos each month. School principals assemble each student team, comprised of 15 students or less, that produce their school’s video. Schools upload their videos, along with background information that supports the connection to SCHOOL PRIDE.

Each month’s winner will receive “Dinner or Lunch with Cam Newton.” A committee representing leadership from the CNF, CMS, and the overall Charlotte community will select the monthly winners. The committee will use established criteria including video content, production and creativity to judge the entries. The winning schools videos are posted and highlighted on Newton’s social media outlets, as well as the CNF website. They will also receive a banner to hang in their school.

A big CONGRATULATIONS to our winning schools!
